When we decide to replace our office furniture, whether to update the décor or out of necessity, we often do not consider what to do with our ‘old’ furniture until it is too late. Here are some suggestions on how to dispose of or recycle office furniture.
Sell:
If we want to replace our furniture to update our offices and give our company a fresh image, but our current furniture is still in good condition, we may be able to sell it. Companies such as FactoryOficina, which buy back office furniture, generally have the following requirements:
- Send photographs and quantities of the furniture for sale (the more information provided, the more accurate our response will be).
- The furniture must be of high quality or in very good condition. Normal wear and tear is acceptable, but items must not be broken.
- We generally purchase large quantities, as collecting small amounts of furniture is not cost-effective.
- We can also remove the furniture at a cost of €0, so at the very least, you will not have to pay for its collection.
Donation:
Another option is to contact charitable organisations. This can be an excellent solution, although in some cases you may need to arrange delivery to the organisation yourself and cover the associated costs.
Your local recycling centre:
The final option is to contact your local council and ask it to collect the furniture and take it to your local recycling centre.
As we have seen, there are several options available. Above all, we must recognise that our planet needs us to manage waste responsibly, whether by recycling it or entrusting it to someone who will handle it correctly.
